To help you with your inquiry and investigation, there will als be opportunities for explorations and dicussions of various artist from the various websites below. Other discussions will be on shared research of various artist and their techniquies and the impact of their materials and processes use to make their work.

Critiques and displays of artwork are a requirement and will be conducted on a weekly basis. You will be expected to participate actively in class/group critiques and individual discussions with the instructor and classmates - your participation in these critiques will be part of your grade. These instructional critiques and conversations offers way to analyze and improve your personal artwork along with the work of your peers, and other artists. They can also give a sense of direction in revising your work if necessary. I will also provide positive feedback and suggestions for ways to improve your work.

Again, art is communication, and it’s necessary to assess whether or not your body of work is effectively communicating your personal inquiry. Correct art vocabulary is expected to be used while engaged in the critiques and any written statements. The critique process is ongoing daily within the art classroom. The students are expected to take these skills of talking about artwork and to apply them in their individual conversations with each other.

There will be daily/constant indivial conferencing (critiquing) with you to asist in your decision-making skills regarding your portfolio development. As a result of these conferences, you will be able to develop and complete a highlly successfull sustained investigation of your art making
